The early stages of piano instruction offer the opportunity to

  • Understand musical notation through early improvisation.

 Instruction ⏤ Ages 7-18

Students at this stage concentrate on the following skills:

  • Technique: students will learn the foundations to perform fluently.

  • Reading Skills: students will learn and interpret music with confidence.

  • Practice Attention: ensures that students’ time at the piano is purposeful and productive.

  • Musicianship: develops a student’s abilities to listen, evaluate and respond to the music they learn and perform.

  • The basics of music, including rhythm, pitch notation, scales, intervals, and chords, will be introduced and integrated into the lessons, making them both understandable and applicable.
